You can go to jail for certain failed actions. When you are jailed you are not able to do anything in the game for a certain amount of time.

Here's a list of crimes and jail timings

You can always bribe your way out.

You can pay $1,000 per minute you have been jailed, and you will immediately be released. Bribe price per minute increases with your rank.
